We're told our suffering serves a greater purpose—that the old Gods left
their mark on people like us before they were hunted to extinction, and
the infection must be reversed before it spreads.
They tell us that this is how we save humanity from the defects of our
tainted DNA. But something has started visiting me in my dreams to offer
another explanation, and it makes the whispers I hear about forbidden
worship inside the Lab sound less like heresy and more like a promise.

Her work is rooted in one belief: monsters are built, not born, and to
